He went to Indiana university, Bloomington to pursue his B.A. After completing his studies there , he returned to India and struggled for almost three and half years until he got his first break in movie Band Baaja Baaraat . He from his childhood wanted to be an actor but for few years he worked in advertising as a copywriter with top agencies like O&M and JWT. But he did not wanted to compromise with his career and went for his audition in the lead role of yash raj production film called Band baaja baaraat
